I am a Nutritional Health Coach with a focus on Functional Medicine. I’ve long studied healthful, whole foods diet and lifestyle. I graduated from Holistic Nutrition Lab’s Full Body Systems program. I’m currently enrolled in the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy program, a collaboration with the Institute for Functional Medicine, which is approved by The National Consortium for Credentialing Health & Wellness Coaches. I am also studying Genetics, MTHFR, Methylation, & Biochemistry through Metabolic Healing as well as Ben Lynch’s Seeking Health Institute.
I have a B.A. in psychology from Sonoma State University in California and an Master of Arts in Humanities and Leadership with a focus on Culture, Ecology and Sustainable Community from New College of California. I’m the author of “Living Out Loud: Young Adults, Finding Our Purpose, Shaping a Better World.”
After 15 years co-founding and helping lead a successful U.S. based NGO, I had a profound healing experience with Functional Medicine and decided to shift gears and move into nutrition and health coaching – as well as nutrition advocacy. My personal mission is to help people find health and wellness, in support of living a vibrant and meaningful life.
After nearly 20 years of suffering from an intestinal auto-immune disease, including SIBO, I was able to turn my life around.
I’ve long been a student of various personal growth and spiritual modalities. I know first hand the power of changing both your mind, and your nutrition & dietary lifestyle. They work hand-in-hand to help stabilize, and then transform your life. One of my key mentors is Marianne Williamson, whom I learned much.
While spending the last 25 years studying healthful, whole foods diet and lifestyle, my formal training includes completion of Replendish PDX, Full Body Systems program. I am currently enrolled in Functional Medicine Coaching Academy where I am a candidate to become a certified Functional Medicine Health Coach.
I spent the first part of my career as co-founder, Director and currently a board member of The Peace Alliance (www.thepeacealliance.org), an alliance of organizers and advocates throughout the United States taking the work of peacebuilding from the margins of society into the centers of national discourse and policy priorities. We mobilize a network of grassroots teams in cities, towns, colleges and high school campuses. It was co-founded by one of my most important mentors, Marianne Williamson, best-selling author and lecturer. I coached and trained hundreds of people to be more effective citizens and activists towards our shared cause of peace. We trained not only on how to be effective at activism, but also how to embody peace as a core operating value in our activism. I worked with The Peace Alliance since its founding in 2004 -2016 and prior to that worked on various campaigns over the years to help create a more just and sustainable world.
I also have a Huffington Post blog where you can read my musings on peacebuilding.
